This is not a beginner hike. I would advise older folks with mobility issues to NOT do this one, if you start from the summit. Not much in the way of views, but learning about the trail's origins and the horrible way the area's natives were treated felt like an apropos history lesson on the 4th of July.

Walked the 804 trail from Yachats Ocean Rd. It's a very smooth medium hike. Awesome views of the coastline from the trail that you won't see from the road. At the end of the hike is the Amanda Statue and the newly built suspension bridge.

A beautiful trail. Moderately challenging with one steep climb. But worth the butt kicking hike. Breathtaking.

The new suspension bridge is complete. Gorgeous hike from Cape Perpetua to Yachats. 6 or 7 miles round trip, depending on how far you venture into town. So peaceful and beautiful. Trip back up to Cape Perpetua is grueling uphill, but worth the effort!
