My son and I were in Reedsport and wanted some lunch. We thought we would try Mexican food and, on a whim, decided to try Aztlan. They are now our hands-down absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. The service was terrific. The atmosphere reminded me of the restaurants where my Mexican neighbors would go to eat in Southern California. And the food was EXCELLENT! My son is a foodie and very picky about his Mexican food (being from a Mexican family) and he agreed it was the best we've had in Oregon. If you're in the area you should definitely try this little restaurant.

A most amazing guy took me to eat at Azlan on our 1st date.
The food was authentic, just like mom makes at home. I loved it. It was a memorable time for me. I'll always remember it and it'll be our place to eat...we ate there twice in a weekend.

Great food and options and fun atmosphere. Crunchy tacos/yellow cheese, which can be warning sign, but food is tasty and authentic. Best beans I've had in years!

Super cool place with amazing decor & true Mexican ambiance. Great tradional music playing & they serve Horchata! YUM!! I forgot to ask if they make their own tortillas, darn it. My dining partner ordered a taco salad with beef, but he was disappointed to find out that it was chicken. He said the error was no big deal & that the chicken was deliciously different, tasting. I ordered of course Horchata to drink & a #3 off the lunch special menu. I was going to order a #13 originally but our waiter said, all tamals are made with pork & I didn't want pork. My #3 was a cheese enchilada, a tostada which comes with rice & beans. My first pleasant taste was that their enchilada sauce, was not like ALL the other places I have eaten at. All the other places enchilada sauce is heavy with chili powder &/or cumin flavor, which gets boring. Azatlan's red sauce is BURSTING with tomato flavor, maybe even a hint of tomatillo. You know when you pick a fresh, sweet, cherry tomato, from the vine & pop it into your mouth, bite down & it explodes in tomatoey goodness? That flavor? Yes, that's what I am talking about, slightly sweet & awesome in flavor. Best Red Sauce Ever! The rice was good, not a fan of its spice flavor, the Tostada was terrific, I just didn't prefer the spice flavor used in the chicken on it either. I have funny tastebuds, so this is NOT a ding against the restaurant, just my personal taste preference. The beans were VERY good, fresh, not sickeningly salty either. Y'all know my reviews well, by now, so yes, I will mention, I had about 10 or so sneezes, which means an additive or flavor enhancer was used in the preparation. I do honestly understand, that its commonly used, or is already in an ingredient, such as a packaged spice. Again not a ding on the restaurant. My body is just overly sensitive. All in all, I would EAGERLY go back & try more dishes here. The refreshing break, from the same boring, but decent flavors, at most other Mexican restaurants, was majorly enjoyable! Our waiter was nice & Elvia who checked on us & cashed us out, was a pure delight. I would go back even just to see her!
