Husband had cod fish and chips, looked good. He said the fish was really good. I had shellfish cioppino. Not impressed, first it was barely warm. Very tomato sauce/paste tasting, pretty one dimensional. Full of fish and shrimp and 2 scallops. No other "shellfish, no clams or oysters. I've had better, made better. Had a great waitress, but the kitchen was very slow.
Great seafood restaurant in Florence. I enjoyed everything I had here, and the service was excellent. I recommend calling ahead to see how long the wait is an hour before you decide to eat there, since they don't take reservations. I had the grilled salmon with the capers and black rice and a salad. I also had a small cup of the seafood chowder. Even the whipped butter and soft sourdough bread was delicious, and I don't really like sourdough bread. I was disappointed that they ran out of the Marionberry crumble dessert, but other than that... I highly recommend this place.
The clam chowder is the best clam chowder I have ever had. It was so good, I almost cried. And I absolutely loved the flaky, crisp, juicy fish and chips, especially the halibut. Will definitely go back.
Friends from Reno picked this place for lunch. First time here for the four of us. I had the shrimp and chips with a cup of chowder, the wife had coconut prawns and a salad. The food was excellent. Had an awesome waitress. Has nice cushioned chairs for the bum.
The Ciopino soup was awesome, the flavors hit! We also had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and we didn't care for it. I think I was expecting something different. I had the fish & chips. I got halibut and it was good. Not too expensive either. Didn't have to wait at all to be seated.
