A good 6 miles hiking trail. I prefer going to top and back the left side. ( when you get to the fork, keep left ) it is much nicer trail. It has stunning old growth forest and chill breeze.
The right side is more open and hot, nothing great to see.

Beautiful trail. Starts off with a slight incline but it does get steeper later on. Wonderful end views!

Living in Yachats, we visit Cummins Creek often. One of our favorites with beautiful stands of pine and fir. A slight grade for the first couple of miles and several side trails for those who enjoy hunting for the elusive chanterelle.

Start at Cummins Creek TH. Hike a mile or so, take the trail fork to LEFT with sign "Cummins Creek Loop." That left trail follows the ridge (worth it), beautiful open old growth stands. Near top (last mile) the old growth gives way to birch, which is reason for down grade to 4 stars. You can hike back down Cummins Creek trail to the right (the trail that was the right hand fork not taken), or you can turn left to link up to Cook's Ridge trail for descent along another beautiful old growth ridge after you descend a bit less than a mile. Take the junction off Cook's Ridge down Gwynn Creek to cut a mile or more off the return to Cummins Creek TH via the Oregon Coast trail at bottom. Little more than 9 miles RT.
