My mother and I got a room at this motel. The floor was nice. The beds were too high to sit on comfortably. There was no closet for our clothes. There was no vent fan in the bathroom. We asked for a couple more pods of coffee and that's exactly what we got -- two pods. There was not a suitable place to walk my mother's little dog. When checking out in the morning I had to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back room to the counter. I won't be going back to the Economy Inn in Florence. Not my idea of how a motel should be.
Just awful. Avoid this place. It was simultaneously the worst experience I've had at a hotel/motel and the most I've paid for a single night. We booked over the phone on a busy weekend where we couldn't find availability anywhere else in town. The room smelled bad - like wet, moldy fiberboard. The windows were open when we showed up, and even that wasn't enough to keep the smell down. When I complained and asked for a different room they offered me a can of air freshener, claiming they had no idea the room smelled bad despite the fact the windows were open when we arrived. The property and the room was extremely run-down. It's so run down you can't even tell if it's clean or not. In the bathroom, the fixture had one working light bulb (three burned out). The light above the shower/tub didn't work at all, nor did the fan, and the fixture was open to the attic. Birds nest in the space above the door, which is only inches above your head when you exit, and you get dive-bombed by the birds. The bedding was stained and torn - we ended up going to a local store and buying cheap sheets and blankets to avoid sleeping on the bedding. One positive thing - despite our concerns, the bed was actually quite comfortable. We would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere, but the night we were there every hotel was totally booked and they don't offer refunds. I think the owners believe they're running a nice motel, but our experience was anything but. I would recommend finding just about anything else. Had I known, we would have just slept in the car at a campground instead.
We were quoted $104.63 for a double queen. We were advised that the pool and jacuzzi had just been renovated and worked fabulously. Upon arrival they charged me $167, said the pool and jacuzzi were down for maintenance and there was black mold all over. I repacked and left faster then I packed into the room to begin with. The management was rude and didn't give a shut.
Paid 208 dollars for a room that had broken glass next to it, a 5 gallon bucket of paint water my dogs kept trying to drink (i dumped it out eventually). Very rude service. Plus they were doing remodeling and they didn't warn me. Everyone walked up the stairs like they were elephants cuz they were working on multiple rooms all over the place. Plus a fire alarm that beeped all night. Even after I had them change it out. Must have replaced the battery with another dead battery. I eventually put it outside but could still here it. So needless to say I got no sleep that night. Do not recommend
Upon arrival there were candy wrappers on the floor, only 2 towels in the room and we booked for 3 guests in a 2 queen bed room. No washcloths. Guy that ran the place looked as though we were an inconvenience to ask for more towels and a few washcloths. Hot tub out of order. Went swimming and was kicked out of the pool area because I had my service animal next to the pool but not in the pool. Not a emotional support animal but a real service dog I have for my health issues. Papered service dog. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone especially those with service dogs. If my room doesn't get comped I will be contacting the ADA. They really need to learn the laws here if they're going to try running a business.
