Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed that the room included a kitchenette. The internet was a little weak across the parking lot from the office so make sure to bring a range extender with you.
The management staff was professional, polite and treated us like family. The room was clean and surprisingly well-lit with plenty of windows. The cleaning staff was always on time and thorough. Good building maintenance is hard to find but it seems that Fir Grove has found theirs. The entire experience was wonderful.
The extended-stay option was very nice and the weekly rates are likely the best you'll find on the entire Oregon Coast, especially for such a well-maintained and quaint property. You'll also find the locals to be friendly and helpful. On top of all these positives, the Fir Grove is situated directly across the street from a couple of amazing restaurants (I highly recommend Bedrock's fish & chips and their amazing pizzas).
The parking lot is a little small but management affords off-site parking at an adjacent lot. We didn't experience any issues with theft or vandalism. In fact, Reedsport, in general, appeared to be practically crime free.
Others have stated that traffic can be loud. The motel is, indeed, situated right on the coastal highway so it does get rather noisy at times. To mitigate this, we simply would run a fan for white noise at night. Didn't hear a peep outside the entire 2 months we visited.
Within just a few minutes of the motel, you'll find fishing, boating, off-roading and even some nice beach access. With Reedsport, you get that small town feel but you're only about 30 minutes from the luxury of shopping Coos Bay.
All-in-all, we had a great time, met some wonderful folks and maybe put on a few pounds due to our proximity to great dining.

Kari is amazing. I’ve stayed there a few times and one was an extended stay. I was staying with my mom and we were constantly arguing, and I’m in the hospital a lot for a seizure disorder. They, despite this, knowing I had nowhere else to go, still did their best to make sure I was able to get away from my mom safely. And they spoke to me several times about my issues that resulted in me having seizures.
I’ve had packages delivered there despite changing my address, and they held onto them as long as they could. When I went to pick them up Kari was super nice and remembered me and my kids.
All in all it was a great stay despite the circumstances. There were people there also for extended stays who were creepy or who had some issues with substance abuse- they took care of the creepy people as best as they could.
Rooms were comfortable although the showers were small. They can’t help that on their part. And the issues with housekeepers has been corrected to my knowledge. I’ve heard they had new renovations which I’m excited to see some day. My roommate lost her job because of the virus and I may need to stay somewhere sooner rather than later. This is where I plan to bring my business as the other motels are too expensive, the rooms aren’t well kept,or the staff is flat out rude.

My husband, myself, and our two teenagers stayed at the Fir Grove Motel this August, 2014. The motel was clean, quiet, nicely kept up, the women at the front desk were lovely and friendly and helpful. Good to have a microwave and fridge in the room. The breakfast was great - homemade waffles and oatmeal and cereals and lots more available - all very yummy. Felt very comfortable there and very welcome. The people who worked there also told me a pleasant route to go for a walk when I asked. The price was also more than reasonably - low and inclusive of breakfast - GREAT value. I would definitely stay there again, as would my family. We were traveling for three weeks all over the place and this was our favorite place that we stayed!

No one to check me in when I arrived. When person finally showed up they had already ran my credit card and left the room key and my receipt tapes to the room door. Very unprofessional. I have stayed there many times in the past but will not be staying there again. Also it now houses long stay customers so felt more like a cheap apartment building. Headboard came detached in the middle of the night because it was hung on the wall like a picture using wire. Overall worst experience I have ever had.
