These gardens were a very pleasant surprise on our visit to the Oregon coast. What a treat to see beautiful Rhododendrons in an old growth forest! It was like walking through a wonderland. The gardens are impeccably cared for and the caretakers obviously are very concerned about the health of the forest and the flowers. It was a real treat! It’s definitely worth a visit.
This is an amazing garden hidden amongst old growth forest on the North end of Yachats. Dozens of different Rhododendrons and many other flowering trees from all over the world with professional garden staff to explain it all. Private areas for tour and public portions as well. A color feast!
Gerdemann Garden is a one of a kind botanic reserve for Rhododendrons on the Oregon Coast. From January through May, hundreds of will be in bloom. A private tour with Andreea the owner is the only way to access and experience this special place. Great for photography as well. It is a dont miss opportunity when you are on the Central Coast. What a delightful feast for the senses—the eyes in particular—is Gerdemann Garden! I have seen a number of impressive rhododendrons, but never so many, so varied, and so at home in their environment. From May to August, there is wildly beautiful color at at every turn in the winding trails. A small portion of the four-acre garden is open to the public, but the full experience is available only if you book a private tour with the engaging Andrea, who is both the owner, head gardener, and primary steward of this very special spot along in southern coastal Oregon. Don't miss it!
