The beach is always awesome, yet if you know the Oregon coast, then it's no surprise that wind & or rain is often a factor, with this visit, no exception. Forecast 69°,partly sunny with light winds, but in reality, it was 64°, 20+ mph wind. It made flying my drone difficult, so I was unable to get much footage. However, the ocean was beautiful to see, so that's why I give it 5☆'s. Heceta Beach County Park has a day use parking fee that offers 2 restrooms, *no plumbing, so I wouldn't recommend lingering too long. In addition, the location offers a couple of picnic benches and water.
No one needs my recommendation to head to Florence or Heceta Beach, but I will give it a thumbs 👍 up anyway.

I love walking on the beach here. It fronts the only oceanfront hotel in town and some homes, so that area can be busy on weekends. It is a fee area, or there is a free parking area to the left of the hotel- both get packed on the weekend. The park area itself is pretty small with very limited space for picnicking, but most people just walk down to the beach and do all of their activities there.
Made it to the end of the beach near the Sea Lion Caves a couple of weeks ago- heads up, it's a 5 mile walk one way (so 10 miles round trip) and you have to cross the creek to access that part of the beach, so prepare appropriately and plan to go around low tide. It's a gorgeous walk and I totally recommend it if you are physically fit for a walk like that. If not, I would not recommend this as cell service is spotty and almost no one walks out that far.
The other direction is the jetty wall, which is about 1.2 miles from the parking lot (when you get out to the beach, go left). It is a good short walk, and if the tide is low you can find some interesting things (crabs, starfish, etc.)

Great beach to hang out at. People flying kites. The kids had fun playing in the water.

Nice beach, easily accessed for those with mobility issues. Not much in the way of scenery, but not allot of debris on the beach itself. Clean!
