I love walking on the beach here. It fronts the only oceanfront hotel in town and some homes, so that area can be busy on weekends. It is a fee area, or there is a free parking area to the left of the hotel- both get packed on the weekend. The park area itself is pretty small with very limited space for picnicking, but most people just walk down to the beach and do all of their activities there. Made it to the end of the beach near the Sea Lion Caves a couple of weeks ago- heads up, it's a 5 mile walk one way (so 10 miles round trip) and you have to cross the creek to access that part of the beach, so prepare appropriately and plan to go around low tide. It's a gorgeous walk and I totally recommend it if you are physically fit for a walk like that. If not, I would not recommend this as cell service is spotty and almost no one walks out that far. The other direction is the jetty wall, which is about 1.2 miles from the parking lot (when you get out to the beach, go left). It is a good short walk, and if the tide is low you can find some interesting things (crabs, starfish, etc.)
We went to the beach on June 11, 2022 it was a windy cool day but we made the most of it. We wrote on the sand, flew a kite, put our feet in the water, built a sand castle, and enjoyed the scenery. I am from Nevada so this was a very chilly day for me that’s for sure. A great beach to walk your dog, take a stroll with your significant other, or just sit and decompress.
Nice beach...huge...great for walking and watching sunset. Good parking 5 bucks for a whole day.
Average beach beautiful beach but nothing overly special about it. There is a parking fee of $5 you pay at the kiosk which is valid until dusk when the park closes. There are also picnic tables, a dumpster and restrooms all located at the parking lot.
Me and my psw were here for my vacation never been here love it kinda cold but love it
