I love this campground! My dad took me here when I was a teenager and I just took my own daughter here for her first trip to the dunes. First of all YES you can hear the noise from ATVs on the dunes, but seeing as that’s what the majority of the campers there (including myself) are there for, it’s kind of a given. ATVs aren’t allowed to be ridden in this campground so that helps keep noise down a bit. The campground is clean, the host was very friendly and informative, and most campsites have good privacy given how close some are. It could be difficult if you have a longer travel trailer because the paved driveway is pretty narrow. Most sites also have a lot of shade even though it never really gets too hot. The bathrooms are relatively clean and there are no showers but hey it’s camping lol. There is a short trail that loops around the outer edge of the campground and is nice to see the wildlife early in the morning and evening but bring your mosquito spray, and best of all it’s only a 10 minute drive to Florence if you need supplies
Nice Campground has lots of pull through spots. It's a good mile hike to the ocean from this Campground. There are not showers here but nice clean bathrooms. The campground to the West has showers you can walk down there to take a shower. Lots of hiking trails around the Lagoon. Well kept clean Park. Not far from Florence if you need to make a run for supplies. Had 4G Verizon there ran a little slow but could still stream. Super nice host
Nice campground. The campsites are large enough for 2-4 tents (depends in the site). Each site has a picnic table and large fire ring with a cooking grate. The bathrooms have flush toilets and cold water sinks.
Amazing campground and surrounding nature area. Good beach access after a nice walk through the forest (waxmrytle trail) and lots of wildlife. We saw seals and snowy plovers and deer and a fox and lots of cool birds. That part of the beach is the protected area for the snowy plover breeding season, so no ATVs or busyness there. The other half of the beach had ATVs, but not so many probably because it was the end of the season. Bathrooms were pretty clean (flush) and mobile signal was enough to send a WhatsApp message but not search on the internet. Campsites were pretty small but had bushes surrounding them so they still felt private.
The campsites are all secluded from each other by bushes or trees much better than a lot of the state campsites but there is no shower...
