Pictures online did not match the current condition. Absolutely no landscape maintenance has been done for at least a month. Weeds all grown up in front of all the rooms. Rooms were clean but dilapidated. Tiles falling off inside the shower. No AC, only ceiling fans and opening windows most rooms are right on HWY 101 so if you are a light sleeper, this hotel is not for you. Service was friendly.

I was looking for a place that would be affordable, sleep well, be reasonably clean, and have a decent breakfast. All of these goals were met. This place is old. It looks like it and feels like it. It is also clean and also friendly. They have birds in the lobby. The people at the desk are nice and helpful. The breakfast is reasonable in options and delicious in quality. Not luxury. Not shiny. Clean enough for normal people. Affordable. Nice and friendly place. Good sleep.

For reference, I have stayed in 'regular' motels in Serbia, Bosnia, Romania, Mexico, etc. This place is one I could never recommend. The carpets are badly stained, it smells of must and mold, the bathroom sink does not drain, soap scum left in the shower, the included breakfast looked bad enough that I chose to spend my money for 5 of us to eat somewhere else, bed was old and saggy, scum ring in the toilet, old cars are the view from our delapitated balcony which had left over beer bottle caps for decoration. The guy who runs if seems nice enough and I feel bad knocking his place because he needs to make a living too, However spending over a $100 a night on this place is just wrong for me. If the place were $50 a night, then maybe the savings would make it worth it? I still wouldn't I stay though, I value cleanliness and order too much. Again, sad to say this,

Just so the owner knows.....Being homeless is a struggle. Not a character flaw. My son is a 5yr old and I didn't deserve that. But you are entitled to your opinions and very pre programmed and asinine expectations of people struggling with losing their housing. Cute place. Very retro. Very thin walls so maybe be careful when you are discussing a guest right on the other side of the wall 😉 Very rude. Very cute place, but don't tell them you're homeless. Thankfully we brought a sleeping mat and blankets. Too scared to use any of theTowels or even the bed or anything or even take a shower Because my son and I can't afford to lose the Good Samaritan who got us the room their deposit. If we had somewhere else to be it definitely wouldn't be here but grateful to have a roof over our heads so we will make the most of it. Grateful but will never stay here again.

The woman at this motel was so sweet. The roads were blocked, so we couldn't get back home, and we stayed there one night, hoping to get home the next night. She was so considerate about us waiting until the last possible moment and then it turned out we had to stay another night, so we extended one more day. We chose the Lighthouse Inn because they were the closest place to the Old Town that accepted dogs. It was an easy walk to Old Town and the river. It's not a fancy hotel, it's a proper roadside motel, so set your expectations accordingly. The warmth and kindness made it totally worth it, as well as the included breakfast, location, and toasty fireplace with boardgames and puzzles. It's nice to stay in a place that's owned by the people who run it, rather than something corporate. We'd come back!
