The name doesn't begin to do this bakery justice. Their bread is fantastic (don't pass up the foccacia!), but their array of pastries, cakes, tarts, and cookies are delicious. There isn't a dud in the bunch, although there are some items that really sing - the pecan sticky buns, bourbon pecan bars, shortbread cookies, and Italian almond cakes. Everything is so good, and the prices are surprisingly low. $1 for the incredible shortbread cookies? $2.25 for a berry apple pie slice? We purchased 7 items plus a loaf of bread and our total was $22. That's incredible.

We’d heard of this place and finally stopped in. It rivals the BEST bakeries I’ve been to in Portland. In the bread: Big air pockets, yet not so huge that you slice it. Amazing array of other goodies. While we were waiting in line we wondered why customers were leaving with armloads of bread and goodies! See for yourself. A wide range of affordable tasty treats. All in little old Waldport. Next time we’re having crab Louis or clam chowder, it’s worth a drive from Newport!

This town is nearly shut down 3 days of the week. We were so excited to try some local sourdough but then saw the line. They are only open 2 days a week? No sourdough is worth standing in line for 20+ minutes. SO disappointing

Great bakery right in little ol' Waldport: excellent quality, kind and efficient service (don't be deterred by a line out the door; they get everyone in and out quickly so you won't wait long), and very reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was really good and freshly baked, so I doubt you can go wrong in ordering.
They have a daily list of things they only make on certain days, so check ahead if you want something specific. The pastries were flaky and delicious (try the croissant and apple turnover, each $2.50). The cinnamon bun, shortbread cookie ($1.25) and molasses cookie ($1) that our two year old spotted and immediately demanded, were all fantastic as well. We got a loaf of sandwich bread (the corn sandwich loaf, $6, Fridays) and it made great toast as well as sandwiches. On the savory side, I really liked the potato knish ($3), and the cheese puff pastry ($2.5) was also good. My only regret was that we didn't order twice as many things :). We'll be back every time we're in Waldport, and probably multiple times per visit...!
