The staff were friendly, the rooms pretty decent and quite clean; would stay again passing through. The beds were moderately comfortable. Biggest complaint would be about the pillows. But we felt welcomed, and have no major complaints.
Rooms are very spacious. The water was hot and cold and did not have a smell to it like so many other coastal motels. My dog had a lot of room to go sniffing around the grounds and make her mark outside. The entire area was clean and inviting. The motel was easily accessible and close to numerous attractions. They have an ice machine so you can fill your cooler whether it is large or small. I highly recommend this motel. We WILL return.
My teenager and I stayed a night in the Seagull cabin and it was perfect for the two of us! Two bedrooms (each with it's own private deck), one bathroom, full kitchen, and a comfortable living room! It was very clean, easy to find, and in a really pretty setting. Despite the fact that it's right next to Hwy 101, it was completely quiet inside the cabin. This was one of 3 places we stayed during our roadtrip and it was definitely our favorite!
We had room #12. It has an old cabin feel. We had a very small room with no desk, no sitting/eating area, just the bed and 1 chair. The walls are thin, and they provided ear plugs knowing this. It has a small shower stall! Curtain makes it a bit bigger instead of having a door. There is just a shelf, and we had to use the window sill as there is little to no counter space and only 1 hook on the door. I wouldn't stay here if you're bigger than 5'5" average build. There is a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, Keurig, fan, no AC, luggage rack. The phone doesn't work. I wouldn't stay here again.
Facility is old. Rooms are very small. Carpentry was very poor unless done by a beaver. Rate per night was the highest for the trip but quality was the lowest. Bathroom was tiny and shower was a joke - low on the wall (below shoulder) and poor flow. Although the price was high for an economy stay the proprietor asked for a $10-20 tip for housekeeping. I found this to be ridiculous as the tip was requested during check-in, before any service "above and beyond" was received. I perceived that the proprietor was simply trolling for more money (I doubted the housekeeper would ever see any tip). The location is on the South end of town and close to the highway. As such, truck noise is in the equation. My recommendation - use one of the numerous better alternative properties.
