We came to the Siltcoos Beach Staging area to take the quads out. What a fun day. I hadn’t been out in a couple years. This is also the beach I like to go to for photography and agates. I enjoy this particular place a lot!
This parking area is huge, you can turn a rig around—RV’s, 5th wheels, Class C, and trailers. Lots of parking. South part of the beach is closed during the summer. But there is at least one trail open for OHVs that does get you to the beach going north. There’s also a section open for off-leash dogs. There are seals enjoying the beach and sometimes dead seals too (yuck). While we were there, there were also people fishing and fly fishing from the shore.
Great access to the beach. Enjoyed checking out this area compared to the South Jetty closer to Florence. It was a windy day but not crowded and a great spot to scramble over the dune and watch the sunset.
The walk over the dune isn't easy but the beach beyond is beautiful.
High dune to cross. Could smell and hear dune buggies before I saw them. Very hard to access if someone has a bad back or hip. But, it's beautiful once you get there.
