The falls are an easy hike out through forest and beautiful. You are close to the falls. This exact pin location is closed for the trail but the bathroom here is open and there are picnic tables. We went down the road about half a mile or so to the next trail access point to park and walk to the falls.

A portion of this trail is currently closed but at the main trailhead near the bathrooms there is signage directing you to drive further up the road to access the path. It was a short walk to the falls and very beautiful! The road was slightly stressful to drive in winter conditions as there were lots of twists and turns, and frost/ice on the road early in the morning. Parking was free but a bit limited. A nice gem overall!

Beautiful, but they are currently working on the upper trail which washed out. So you cannot go all the way up the trail, but still a great little walk. The dogs had fun exploring on leash also.

THE BROKEN BRIDGE HAS BEEN REPAIRED! Highly recommend this waterfall! Nothing super Spectacular like many big waterfalls in Oregon. But more in a subtle type of way. Water weeping from moss and natural rock swimming holes a plenty along the hike. Takes about 45 to 60 minutes to complete, and I wouldn't do the upper viewpoint unless you well able bodied and wanted too. This review and pictures are from late August in 2025. Suitable for SOME kids. Not stroller suitable and there is no railings for most of the hike. There is a very small parking lot of about six spots in the first lot and you could probably fit 15 to 20 in the second lot but there's no bathroom at the second one. The second parking lot will take you to pretty much the top of the falls, less than a half a mile hike. The first parking lot will take you the whole hike of about 1.3 mile round trip. Hike is an out and back.

The trail is closed at this time, which is too bad because this section is my favorite of the Sweet Creek Falls trails. Bypass it and head up to the falls trailhead 1/2 mile up the road. Be aware that the other section is narrow at points and very muddy at this time (January). If you have children or dogs with you, keep them in control and know that there are few areas to let others pass. However, it is a very beautiful time to go, with the creek being very full due to the wet weather.
